As we all know that thunderbird and thundernird x will be discontinued from the market as it is a bs4 unit. Royal enfield is taking advantage of this opportunity with an effort towards producing a new engine and chassis for the meteor 350. Maybe in future they will use this very engine for all their 350 models.
All black sporty rim with lines matching the bike color. The instrument console is a single unit with more retro touch. The single beam frame has been ditched and a new frame bases on J Platform will be used for meteor. The chassis has been redesigned and more or less resembles the dynamics of interceptor and continental gt 650. Obviously the covel portion of the twins is straight round bar but here its normal for the meteor. It has a more aggressive appeal, wider rear tyres and all new tail lamps.
Now coming on to the mental behavior changes in the royal enfield meteor. The new engine that will be produced will have capacity between 350 to 500cc. The older Thunderbird produced 19.8 bhp and 28nm of torque. This new motor is expected to produce at least 2 to 3 bhp more. It will be more refined and maybe will use 6 speed transmission but the chances are bleak.
Royal enfield is using meteor instead of Thunderbird because Thunderbird is used by many other brands in the market internationally. They have full focus on international market too. The news of this new engine has raised a lot of expectations within me, i wish they make something as smooth as the interceptor 650. Interceptor 650 is a noble motorcycle with zero impurities. Even the himalayan is almost virbration free when compared to the former enfields. It has a counter balancer that kicks in after 4000 rpm and makes it smooth.
